Kirsten Davidson
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Kirsten Davidson is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), with membership to the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She is also a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). Kirsten earned her Bachelor of Arts

Honours Degree from the University of Guelph, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Family and Child Studies. Kirsten is currently completing her Master of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

 

Kirsten has experience counselling youth, adults, couples, and families, in the format of individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. She has also co-facilitated a self-esteem counselling group for pre-teen girls. Kirsten provides services amid a wide range of subject areas including, but not limited to, life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, intimate relationship concerns, family dynamics, parenting strategies, effective communication, conflict resolution, stress management, and self-esteem issues. As an individual living with Type 1 Diabetes, Kirsten also offers specialized services for addressing mental health concerns that can accompany Type 1 Diabetes. Her therapeutic style is primarily informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Existential Psychotherapy, Mindfulness Practices, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Trauma Informed Therapy.

 

Kirsten offers her empathy, openness, and attentiveness, so that clients may draw meaningful connections about themselves in a safe therapeutic environment. She aims to help clients not only navigate life’s difficulties, but proactively adopt strategies that can support their mental 17health. Kirsten is honoured to collaborate with her clients as they discover their potential for therapeutic growth.
